Casas Adobes is one of the Tucson area’s established communities: an unincorporated part of Pima County just northwest of the city, with the Santa Catalina Mountains rising to the northeast. The name means “adobe houses.” Developer Sam Nanini arrived in 1948 and opened Casas Adobes Plaza at Oracle and Ina, built of red-brown adobe in the Spanish Colonial style, then developed the subdivisions in the mid-1950s that gave the community its name.

Homes range from mid-century ranch houses to custom homes near the foothills, along with townhomes and condos close to shopping, and mountain views are part of daily life.
